It is a chemical that is used in explosives. The pale yellow colored organic material is prepared by the set of chemical processes which involves the nitration of the chemical toluene. The chemical is used as a chief element to prepare the explosives.
The reason being toluene is used because when heated it is melted at the 82C that is 178F, but surprisingly it does not explode below 240C that is 464F. The main reason for this phenomenon is that it is extremely stable hence it doesn’t react easily.
After the preparation, it is exploded by the use of the Detonator. Due to its properties like these, it is actively used in making chemical explosives, extensively used in munitions, and for demolitions.
Tracing back the history, it was first prepared during the period of 1863 by a German chemist and it was made for the purpose of dying since it has a vibrant yellow color. Its explosive nature was not unrevealed for a very long time due to the reason being that it requires a detonator. Its true nature was discovered by another German chemist in 1891 during the time when it was being poured into shell cases in liquid form. During the period of 1902, TNT started to get manufacture for explosive means.
