What is the full form of ASLV?

ASLV stands for "Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicle" or "Advanced Satellite Launch Vehicle".

It is basically a five-compartment rocket that was originally built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) during the period of the early 1980s. The methodology started by preparing parts by part in order to assemble the mapped-out rocket to be placed in orbit.

ASLV History:

The testing session started off with powering the rocket for four takes, out of which one was successful and the other three failed due to some technical issue. Proceeding this, after that the period of 1987 to 1994 marked the use of ASLV.

ASLV Aim:

The mission regarding this vehicle was to orbit 150kg class satellites into 400km circular orbits. Since at the point in time ISRO didn’t have enough funds so the vehicle was originally built on a pocket-friendly technique.
