SHO stands for Station House Officer
SHO is the head or official accountable for a police headquarters of a territory. He manages the working of the police headquarters and is answerable for keeping up the lawfulness in his general vicinity.
He positions over a Sub-Inspector (SI) and under a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). His rank emblem is three stars and a red and blue striped lace on his shoulder tie. A group of Sub-reviewer, Head Constable, and Constables work under him.
He has the power to lead an examination of violations in his general vicinity and to show up in court for his police headquarters.
