What is the full form of NCR?
NCR stands for National Capital Region
It is the metropolitan zone in India that envelops the whole domain of Delhi and metropolitan zones of neighboring states; Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In this way, Delhi alongside the metropolitan regions of the neighboring states is known as the National Capital Region.
It is one of the world's biggest agglomerations with a population of more than 47,000,000.
Cause of the idea of NCR
It was suggested in the First Master plan for Delhi in 1962 that a wide zone of Delhi and encompassing towns should be created as a metropolitan district to diminish the populace tension on Delhi.
