The NPR is a database of the nation's everyday citizens. It includes data gathered under the terms of the Citizenship Act, 1955 and the Nationality (Registry of Residents and Issuance of National Identification Cards) Rules, 2003, at the provincial (township), semi, city, state, and national stage.
For the requirements of the NPR, an ordinary citizen is identified as an individual who has been residing in a regional area over the past 6 months or more or a citizen who plans to be residing in that region for the next six months. The legislation coercively attempts to enroll and grant a regional identification card to any citizen of India. The NPR upgrade process will be conducted underneath the umbrella of the Regis. A participant would not need to create any paper during the NPR.
According to a clarification supplied to media outlet ANI by Home Minister Amit Shah, NPR knowledge would be personality, i.e. whatever documentation the recipient gives would be considered accurate and no records or biometrics will be needed. Although NPR only includes statistical data official statistics such as demographics, economic growth, literacy and numeracy, and accommodation and domestic facilities, among others, involve further specifics. The Decennial Surveys is the unified biggest reference for a range of quantitative details on the various demographics of India's population.
