Artificial Intelligence and its Contributions

The word Artificial Intelligence or particularly ( AI ) has been a buzzing scenario, and you may probably hear it from the past 3 to 4 years. But did you know that Artificial Intelligence was first coined in the year of 1956 and since then, it has been a path for optimism and sometimes it leads to loss of hope due to unfavorable resources.

But in today's era, we can afford the resources to much extent than they were before and thanks to the technology that enables us in the plural form of advancements and that pushes us in the direction of research and innovation. One of the best application of Artificial Intelligence is Machine Learning or popularly known as ( ML ) in recent era, enables us to understand the true potential of how a machine can learn from past experiences or cases that being provided, thus pushing forward the scope that made us realize that machine too can take part in the decision making process.

In this context, we will discuss the contributions that are being made by Artificial Intelligence to help us to provide better opportunities and have a healthy way of enjoying technology. After all the contributions made by artificial intelligence or its applications cannot be denied, thus to be discussed.

The contributions of Artificial Intelligence are as follows :

  • The modern recommendation system - Recommendation system such as the recommendation system of Amazon and Flipkart or at any social shopping site may be infused with machine learning, where the user data is being analyzed with various categories as area or gender or any season, to give the maximum suffice to the consumers and customers.
  • The chat bot system that being powering the websites for leading consumers helping consumers to buy better and opportunities for business to serve more.
  • Even sometimes bug MNC's are using Machine Learning to predict the credibility for the customer, i.e, to offer him credit for his need to not.

The world is changing with Artificial Intelligence and its application is making it more desirable to have much more on the improvement to have a big effect on the consumer and customer satisfaction, helping the industry to serve better and even sometimes securing the services in more ways.

Harpreet Singh is a Lecturer of Computer Science and Engineering Department in Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He was appointed in 2017 in Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology,Patiala. Before joining Thapar, He has teaching experience of 5 years. He worked as a teaching assistantship in Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran selected under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) sponsored by World Bank for 2 years during his Masters. After that, he appointed as a Assistant Professor in Chandigarh University, Mohali in 2014 and served for 3 years. He has filed 3 patents in interdisciplinary fields and also filed 3 research projects in Department of Health Research sponsored by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Apart from this, He organized and conducted the FOSS online exam remotely under “Talk To A Teacher” project offered by the Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay, funded by National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Govt., of India and generated 150 certifications of students in different programming modules. He also coordinated and started the 5th batch of Tech Mahindra IMS Academy successfully in Chandigarh University. He did the certification in “MACHINE LEARNING FOUNDATIONS: A Case Study Approach” by University of Washington on Coursera. Certificate earned on May7, 2016. His area of research in Machine Learning and Data Mining,Optimization using Softcomputing techniques (GA, DE, PSO, ACO) ,Combinatorial Problems and Bioinformatics (Drug Synergy, Drug Discovery).
