In this situation, WP Worldwide launched an electric vehicle charging pile solution based on ON Semiconductor's NTBG022N120M3S SiC MOSFET and NCD57084 isolated driver IC, which can be applied to EV charging pile products with 600V~900VDC (Max) and 6KW output.
NTBG022N120M3S is a 1200V SiC MOSFET under onsemi, which is optimized for fast switching applications. Operating conditions of high voltage, high current, and high-speed switching, Vgs (gate-source) maximum voltage range of -10V- to +22V, by virtue of these characteristics, make this product capable of low power consumption, high efficiency, and high temperature in switching operation stability.
The NCD57084 is a high current single channel IGBT gate driver with 2.5kVrms internal galvanic isolation, designed for high power applications with high system efficiency and reliability. Packaged in SOIC-8, the driver features soft shutdown and fault report detection. In addition, the product features low output impedance for enhanced IGBT drive, provides a wide input bias voltage range and signal level from 3.3V to 20V, and a wide output bias voltage range up to 30V, supporting +7A/-7A high peak output current. Not only that, the short propagation delay time of the device can achieve precise matching, and the low UVLO threshold can realize bias flexibility.
In addition, the solution is also equipped with high-efficiency auxiliary power supply and DC-DC converter, which can further improve the charging efficiency and reliability of EV charging piles.
