Recently, Microsoft announced that the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code extension, that you can go and get it from Visual Studio Code Extensions and it is now generally available for everyone. This toolkit will help you out to manage your Amazon Web Services Apps in a very easy way just by one click from Visual Studio Code only.   This Amazon Web Services Toolkit is in developer preview from November-2018 and is open-sourced on GitHub.

By this Tool you can do many tasks by Visual studio code without opening Amazon Web Services portal in the browser, some of them are the following:

  1. Develop and deploying Serverless Application from Visual Studio Code.
  2. It can create new ASW projects and also local debugging within the editor itself.
  3. currently supports Node.js, Python, and .NET.

AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code enables you to test the code locally with step-through debugging in a Lambda-like environment and deploying an application to the AWS Region of your choice.
