What is AWS

History of AWS

  • AWS was actually launched back in 2002, as a free service that used to allow companies to include Amazon.com features on their own websites.   • In 2016, It surpassed $10 billion revenue target as promised by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at the starting of the year 2016. It also rolled out Snowball and Snowmobile.
  • In 2017, AWS offered nearly 100 cloud services to the customers for computing, storing, database, analytics, networking, mobile, management tools, developer tools, IoT, security, and enterprise applications.
  • In 2018, at re:invent AWS made a splash by announcing its first true hybrid cloud called AWS Outpost.
