Alibaba cloud - Next ambitious project of Alibaba
Alibaba Cloud is the subsidiary of the e-commerce giant Alibaba Group. It is a cloud computing company and launched its cloud services in 2009.
The company has a wide range of cloud computing products and services that are divided into 7 categories of Elastic Computing and Networking, Security and Management, Database, Application Services, Domains and website, Storage and CDN, and Analytics. The user can get the benefits of cloud security, record-breaking computing power, cloud security, safeguard your data, etc.
Alibaba Cloud's international operations are registered and headquartered in Singapore, and the company has regional headquarters in Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, San Mateo, Seoul, Africa, Sydney, and Tokyo. The company has set up its 14 data centers across the globe.
Alibaba has considered Amazon its serious competitor and dreams to reach that potential in upcoming years. Simon Hu, president of Alibaba has stated, “Our goal is to overtake Amazon in four years, whether that’s in customers, technology, or worldwide scale.” According to NASDAQ Amazon is valued at $400 billion and Alibaba’s market cap exceeds $250 billion as per its NYSE market share.
As per Synergy Research Group, Alibaba Cloud holds the sixth rank across the globe after AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM, and Salesforce in terms of the cloud platform, infrastructure, and hosted cloud service providers.
The Chinese cloud market has tremendous opportunities for Alibaba to earn brownie points from its own region as they have very little competition there.
Like Amazon Alibaba also started by approaching small businesses and offered them its cloud products and services, just like AWS. Now, they are moving their focus to the larger scale businesses as the company is confident enough to handle the massive workload of big sized financial services and e-commerce organizations.
